Your gown - carefully cleaned and preserved.

Your gown represents a moment in time that matters deeply. Our team carefully cleans and preserves using specialty techniques and archival-quality materials designed for long-term care. We’re honored to have be part of preserving your story and caring for something so meaningful.

In this short video, we’ll explain our preservation process and what you can expect when you receive your gown back.

Understanding Your Gown Preservation

Wedding gown preservation is designed to help protect delicate fabrics and details from aging, yellowing, environmental exposure, and hidden staining over time. Because every gown is unique, each preservation is handled individually with thoughtful care and specialty techniques developed through years of experience in gown cleaning and textile care.

Before preservation, your gown is carefully inspected and professionally cleaned to address visible staining, body oils, sugar stains, perspiration, and other residues that may not be immediately visible after the wedding day. Even stains that seem invisible today can oxidize and darken over time if left untreated, which is why proper cleaning before storage is so important.

After cleaning, your gown is prepared using archival-quality preservation methods designed for long-term storage. We intentionally avoid using pins, staples, direct plastic contact, and harsh packaging materials against delicate fabrics whenever possible. Because of this careful approach, some shifting during shipping or handling may occur and is considered normal.

To help your gown remain beautiful for years to come, we recommend:

  • storing it in a cool, dry place

  • avoiding attics, garages, and damp basements

  • keeping the preservation away from direct sunlight

  • inspecting the gown periodically over the years using the gloves provided

Your gown may someday become an heirloom, inspire future generations, or simply remain a treasured reminder of an important season of life. Whatever its future holds, we are grateful to have played a small part in preserving it for you.

We care for what matters.

Frequently Asked Questions…

Why were my bra cups removed?

Bra cups and temporary support materials are often removed before preservation because the foam, adhesives, and synthetic materials used in many cups can break down, yellow, or damage delicate fabrics over time. Removing them helps protect your gown for long-term storage and future wear.

Your bra cups have been carefully wrapped in tissue and placed at the bottom of your preservation chest should you ever wish to use them again.

Why does the chest area of my gown look soft or “sloppy”?

Your gown was carefully folded and packed using archival preservation methods designed to protect delicate fabrics without using pins, heavy shaping materials, or rigid supports directly against the gown. Because of this, softer areas like the bodice or chest may not appear as structured inside the preservation packaging as they did when worn.

Some shifting during shipping and handling may also occur. This is completely normal and does not reflect the quality of care or preservation.

Why were my belt, straps, sleeves, or sash removed?

Many detachable or delicate accessories are preserved separately to help prevent strain, creasing, discoloration, or damage during long-term storage. In some cases, removing these items also helps protect fragile seams or embellishments on the gown itself.

Your veil, belt, straps, sleeves, sash, or other removable accessories are carefully wrapped in tissue and labeled with a blue sticker inside the preservation chest so they can be easily located when needed.

Can I open the preservation chest?

Yes. We encourage you to periodically inspect your gown over the years. If your preservation packaging allows safe opening, checking the gown occasionally can help ensure it remains in excellent condition.

Please use the provided gloves when inspecting or handling your gown to help protect delicate fabrics from the natural oils on your skin. After inspection, carefully refold the tissue and replace it as it was packaged.

Where is my veil?

Veils are often folded separately within the preservation packaging to help protect delicate netting, lace, beading, or edging. Your veil and any removable accessories are wrapped in tissue and marked with a blue sticker inside the preservation chest for easy identification.

Please carefully inspect all tissue layers and packaging materials before assuming an item is missing. If you still cannot locate an item, please contact us and we’ll gladly help.

Why are there still marks or discoloration on parts of my gown?

Every gown — and every stain — is different. While many stains can be fully removed, some discoloration, wear, or damage may become permanent depending on the fabric, age of the stain, dye content, fabric condition, or prior attempts at cleaning.

Certain stains, especially those involving red wine, spray tans, makeup, mud, grass, sugar, oxidation, or invisible spills that have aged over time, can permanently alter delicate wedding fabrics. In some cases, aggressive stain removal methods could cause more damage to the gown than leaving slight discoloration behind.

Our goal during preservation is always to carefully balance appearance, fabric safety, and long-term preservation. If slight discoloration or faint staining remains, it is because we chose the safest approach for protecting the integrity of your gown.
