September Is Here: Back to School, Back to Work, Back to Routine
As West Michigan settles back into its fall rhythm, here are a few ways Great Lakes Clothing & Gown Care can make your week a little easier.
There’s something about September that feels like starting again.
Even if no one in your house is heading back to school, the rhythm changes. Vacations wind down. Meetings return to the calendar. Fall activities begin. Students head back to classrooms and college campuses. Bands, orchestras and choirs start rehearsing again. And suddenly, the slower pace of summer feels a little farther away.
At Great Lakes Clothing & Gown Care, we see that change of season in what comes through our doors, too.
So as you settle back into your routine, here are a few ways we can help.
Let Us Take Something Off Your Weekly List
If your September calendar is already filling up, this is a great time to try our pickup and delivery service.
Instead of adding “go to the dry cleaner” to your list, we can come to you. Send out the work clothes, special-care pieces and other items that have been waiting for attention, and we'll take care of the rest.
Sometimes caring for what matters means recognizing that your time matters, too.
Back to the Classroom—and the Office
September is also a good time to take another look at your wardrobe.
Maybe the blazer you haven't worn since spring could use a cleaning. Your favorite work pants need pressing. That fall jacket has been sitting in the closet all summer. Or perhaps something needs a repair before you put it back into regular rotation.
Before replacing something you already love, consider whether a little professional care could give it another season of wear.
Calling All Student Musicians 🎶
This one is especially close to our hearts because we have quite a few musicians on the Great Lakes team!
Local students receive 25% off cleaning for school band, orchestra and choir uniforms. Just let us know that it's a school music uniform when you bring it in.
We're also excited to begin caring for band, orchestra and choir uniforms for West Ottawa Public Schools this school year.
There is a lot that happens before students ever walk onto a stage or field—practice, discipline, teachers, directors, parents, volunteers and plenty of behind-the-scenes work. We're happy that caring for the uniforms can be one small part we play.
Summer Brides: Where Is Your Wedding Gown?
Be honest. Is it still hanging in the garment bag? 😉
If you were married this summer and haven't gotten around to having your wedding gown cleaned, you're definitely not the only one.
But stains can become more difficult to address as time passes—including stains you may not immediately see. September is a great time to finally bring your gown in for professional cleaning and decide whether you'd also like to have it preserved.
Your wedding is over. Caring for what you wore doesn't have to be another project for you to manage.
Caring for Our Community This September
Our tagline at Great Lakes is We Care for What Matters, and that extends beyond the clothing and gowns entrusted to us.
Our September Blessing Fund partner is the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holland. We've supported the organization through our Blessing Fund before, but we're working toward making these partnerships about more than writing a check at the end of the month.
We want to spend time learning about the organizations serving our neighbors, sharing their work with you, encouraging the people doing that work, and then supporting them financially.
Our Hope Pkgs collection boxes also remain available at both Great Lakes locations, so that ongoing partnership continues as well.
Welcome Back to Your Routine
Whatever September looks like for you—school drop-offs, college classes, office meetings, music rehearsals, wedding celebrations or simply returning to a more normal schedule after summer—we hope it's a good beginning to the season ahead.
And if we can take one little thing off your list along the way, we'd be happy to.
We Care for What Matters.
